New toro doesnt require oil change

I use a SR for small yards, they're great mowers but I'm not so sure how I feel about not changing the oil...Gimmick for the homeowner, or could this be used for long term 200+ hours a season without getting wrecked.

If it was mine, I'd change the oil regularly.
C'mon, how much is a quart of good oil, right ?

I have been doing that for years with 21" mowers. Add a few spoonfuls of oil every spring, good to go.

It's a homeowner mower. The engine will fail before the oil goes bad. How many homeowners put 200 hours on a their push mower? THat would take a decade. Better yet, how many people get 500 hours out of these motors?

Changing oil on a push mower doesn't need to be done as much as people think. Even if you run the thing 20+ hours a week like I do, once a year is Still fine as long you don't let it get low.

As long as it keeps leaking and oil is being added as needed, it will always have fresh oil.

It will always have fresh oil sure. But the contaminates dont leak out they stay in the machine.

They have been marketing these no oil change machines for years. The wheels cables and handles were out before the motor anyway so why bother with an oil change.

The big plastic cowling they put on these engines is comical. Push mowers using the Briggs are practically identical versions of the little vertical shaft motor. Some of the best yet cheapest motors ever made. Not much to them under the cover, but they run like champs maintained or not.

I have a toro smart stow for more than ten years and never changed the oil once. Every time I checked oil it was clean. I would recommend changing air cleaner if you generate a lot of dust and dirt. I am a retired aircraft technician and have worked on many mowers in the past.
