I had been awaiting to see this machine in real life and finally got to demo one. The cab is one of the main upgrades. It shares much the same IPAD type console as the new CASE wheel loaders. It is outstanding. You can pick the EH setting you like that are preprogrammed or build your own. Love that feature. Much more information, easily available. Very well thought out interior. Speed sensors in the drives to make control easier. My only complaint is that the left trigger activated the horn, while the two speed is button activated. I would have preferred those switched since I am on the gas a lot more than using the horn. The breakout on the machine incredibly strong. I was using an 84" extended lip bucket with a backsplash guard (bucket from 95XT) holds about 7/8 yard heaped. The machine would flip the breakout the bucket so easy, that I had to slow down on the tilt cylinder to keep from throwing the material up against the cab. CASE rates its breakout at around 9100 pounds and it felt very much that powerful. I moved placed and compacted the 450cy of material in 5 hours. The machine is certainly impressive.

I think they nailed it, pretty dang impressive machine. I couldn't believe how much more productive it is over a TR340 which does well in its own right. The machine just felt incredibly powerful. Same engine as previous but it feels more powerful. I know they increased the pressures and maybe that is it. That 450 is a horse and half.

Yea I feel totally confident that running the larger bucket would be possible. I know what you mean on the cabs. The 400 series were tight. The B is more open than the Alpha, they changed the design of the joysticks for more leg room at the knees.

Did you get any pictures? I’m considering trading in my 331g. Machines been good, just some other issues. I definitely want to stay in the large frame machine. We run a 84in 4n1 regularly and I set up a 90in bucket with a pole to run the laser receiver to finish grade the pads

Do you think the 450 is the one to pick or would the 370 work? It's under DEF but obviously not as powerful. I'm really wanting something that can speed up grading & spreading topsoil, it ends up almost 2 days on the bigger sites.

Did you get any ballpark on pricing? My dealer isn't sure when the B's come in. I kinda don't want to run an Alpha, want to try out the B.

I have not spent a great deal of time in a TV370, but as strong and impressive as the 450B is, if you don't need that much machine I would look seriously at the TV370B. Related to what 4 Seasons brought up, SCR is more to contend with. If you can go with a DOC machine and can be happy with the performance, going larger doesn't make as much sense. It used to, but since tier 4i,f I don't think that is true any more. I have not had any SCR repairs in my two machines, and I didn't on my Tier 4i machine, but there is more to go wrong with them. There is no question to go with the B. A loaded 450B including high flow (but not enhanced high flow) is in the upper 60's. I would guess that the 370 is at least 10K cheaper. Your dealer should be seeing those machines soon I would think. Maybe with Covid, they are slowed or not moving machines out, I am not sure.

Right now nothing takes DEF but might have to just deal with it. The production probably makes it worth it. I've got another spec to grade out in a couple weeks, maybe I can get a hold of one.

The CNH machines are not DEF perfect, but I cant complain about it. Having DEF on hand is at times is inconvenient, it hasn't cost me any thing, never had a warranty or nonwarranty issue. However I work them hard and on one job that was three days of pallet moving work, the DEF warning code went off. I picked up the idle, worked it harder and it cleared itself. I think if you treat a DEF machine like a wheel barrow you could have problems. They have to be worked, especially when its cold. They don't like to idle around. I think guys are better to work a nonSCR machine harder than to buy an SCR machine and work it lightly. That isn't just a CNH machines but all of them.

I agree with KSSS 100%. That’s also why I switched all gas trucks for all our maintenance crews. The diesels just can’t handle stop and go quick maintenance routes imho and as landscape contractors a lot of our skids do short burst of activity vs a full on grading contractors.

As much as I don't like the DEF, think I want the 450. It would be for big grading/spreading jobs. My dealer hasn't seen any B's & with the factory shut down it may be awhile. I can try an orginal Alpha but think it might be better to wait for a B to try out?

Yeah, I'm thinking it is best to not run the A's. I love the 440 but man, the new specs look so impressive. I also love the oversized Virnig bucket idea on the B. One thing I am also going back & forth is VTS, got a another set as spare that could go on a machine. Actually talked with them this winter & they are not dead. A lot depends if I'm going to be running it vs putting a guy in it.

I know your a fan of the VTS and I was also, but these newer CTL's really have them beat and who takes the time to pull the VTS off and on. To me its the only real advantage over a CTL, I know I never pulled them off. I even traded the machine with the VTS on it. The TV450 especially with a 90" bucket would move material at a killer rate. The A series is much more comfortable than the 400 series and B is much above that. I loved my 440 as well, probably one of the best machines CASE ever built. However, spend a couple hours in one of these and that 440 would be a distant memory.

That is one thing that is so true, I never take my VTS off. Don't do snow anymore so they stay on always. Technically, VTS might be faster than a CTL? Think speed is big when trucking dirt around. I do like the suspension action the VTS has vs regular CTL, although ride control does help things. It just seems the VTS was designed for me, everyone else has problems?

I did sit in a A the last time at the dealer, the cab is light and airy. Do you have the air filter thingy in the A's? The first 440 had it & really miss it.

The suspension is a nice aspect of VTS, that is for sure. As far as speed if the VTS is faster it isn't enough to matter I don't think. Ride control is a big advantage. Yes there is an air filter in the A. Pretty effective and easy to change without tools. As soon as you notice the air flow slowing down, pull the filter, bang the dirt out of it and your good to go. I assume the B is the same way, but honestly I didn't look at that. VTS was a great attachment as CTL's were just getting going. But driving the entire machine off of just the rear chains is a problem. I dusted one set of chains on my 440. I think that the VTS system was to blame for that. I think if you spent 8 hours in a B series CTL you would forget about the VTS system. I know I did.

Think it was called an aspirator, the first 440 had it. Every skid should have it.

I kinda agree on just getting the ctl, the only reason I'd stick with VTS is if there is a huge money difference between wheel vs ctl.

Hopefully the factory is getting them out, really want to try one out.
