With local availability and dealer support, my decision for a stand on mower has come down to bobcat Quickcat 48/52" (actually Kubota) or a Ferris Z1/z2

Prices are, in CDN:

Quickcat: 10,500
Ferris Z1: 9,000
Ferris Z2: 11,000

Primary use is residential, 5k-8k in size, with plenty of 3k properties, and a few 20k.

Would be cutting 600k per week, 10-15 hours or so of machine time. Mulch kits 100% of the time.

I've tried to read all the comparison's, but this comparison doesn't really exist, it's always Ferris vs Scag/Wright, or bobcat vs hustler/Toro/exmark.

Can anyone share any input?

Take a look at Bradley mowers; they make a 52" stander that can be had at a much cheaper price.($4900-$5300) They are the same design as a Bobcat.

Great idea, but Bradley doesn't sell in Canada :(. Driving across the border (eventually) and picking one up, would still be a pretty good savings, but not an option right now.

I have both a 2018 ferris z2 with a 52 inch deck and just bought a brand new 2020 Bobcat quick cat 4000 with a 61 inch deck and also a 2017 ferris is700, but i just pulled the bobcat off and pulled it in my shop. I,m breaking it out for the first time mi have about 8 acres to mow so i will reply tomorrow after i have time on the bobcat, i will say when i first drove the bobcat when i pulled it off my trailer my first impression was wow this is a nice machine and i was super impressed i but like i said i have net mowed with it yet..

Kubota actually just started with their stander line up not to long ago.

Just recently purchased a bobcat quickcat 52in for $6700 out the door. My dealer was able to offer great deals trying to liquidate the current models. Since bobcat purchased Bobcat mowers all the new ones will be white/orange. So the green ones are discounted. Might be something worth looking into. So far it’s the best stand on unit I’ve operated.
