No your not being one, this is just one customer who wants this done, he pays extra, we maintain the front at about 1 inch, the back which is zoysia at about 2 1/2 - 3. Its the only yard we bag, but for 300+ a month (mow edge blow shrubs) I don't mind. Didn't have to mow the next week so it equals out. Greened up really well.

No problem, just trying to show the op you can cut it down and let green back up

We also have some we are cutting at 3.5 because of over fertilizing may have to go higher

don't cut so tall on bermuda. i mow one at 2.5" and may raise it to 2 3/4" in the early fall right before it starts to go dormant. it never turns brown like the pics show. it only turns brown when it goes dormant when the temps get cooler. with all the rain we've had this year it shouldn't be turning brown at all.

Believe me not trying to be an *+4%4. We've got customers too that have overly fertilized, overly watered lawns and even at a 4" cut height we are cutting off 4+ inches of new growth ina week. Bermuda mostly but some of the Myers Zoysia lawns are the same.
Yes, had a customer the got it fertilized every 2 or 3 weeks can't remember, and she watered the yard all week!!, all summer! I had it at 4" but I had lots of thick clippings left over to clean up:oops::confused::rolleyes:

I get the cash part on your end, but still don't get the customer side?
seems a long way to go for what?

peoples got some weird ideas. lol

yeah typically mow bermuda at like 2" in the spring to "scalp it" and then up it to 2.5" once it gets going and then around august move it up to 3" and after it goes dormant cut it back down to 2.5". that's what i've always done.

We keep the summer turf grasses as high as we can reasonably get them going into the winter and leave them like that until a spring "scalp". It adds an "insulation" effect to protect the roots during winter.
