Thinking about getting the Ferris 61 inch stand on with the larger motor. Been using Exmark for 20 years now. Please give me some feedback on this mower. Also, does Ferris make a gator blade for these mowers? The blades with the teeth on the end. Thanks!

We really like our Ferris'. We are in central Florida and during the constant rainy season they do well. As with any other mowers cutting in extreme wet, there is some clumping but nothing a double cut won't fix. When it's not raining, Ferris stand in still put down a nice cut. We have a strip kit on one of our mowers.

I too ran (and still do) exmark for many years.

tossed a 48" ferris stander on the trailer a few seasons back.

It's been a great mower, coming up on a thousand hours, and cuts quite well. had some scag super hi-lift blades cut to fit and it throws down some damn nice stripes.
the thing I think that impressed me most, never having a stander before, is all the tricky places I can put it, very nimble machine.

it has a few more grease fittings than some mowers, including spindles, but no biggie.

current trailer setup is 2 48" TT's and the 48" ferris. which is a good combo for my lawns.

I bought my first 61" Z3x last year, my other two mowers are also Ferris, 52" zero-turn and 48" WB.

Safe to say I am now selling my other two mowers and looking at picking up more standers.

Standing is just so much better IMO, the Z3x is a tank but still capable of being used on medium size lawns due to incredible traction and its wheel base. the 37 hp motor really gives it solid acceleration and punch. I feel like standing behind a machine versus sitting on it provides more confidence and comfort. Zero-turns slide way more partly because your weight is directly centered in the middle of it. When standing you can influence the machine with your own body-weight if need be. I find it just safer to be behind the machine and not strapped into it like with sitting.

Your lower back and hips will also thank you, sitting all day on a mower and then sitting in your truck from account to account will really do a number on your core and lower back. Standing is far healthier for the body.

Going for the 48" z1x next to replace my 48" walk behind.

Can't go wrong with Ferris!

your z3 have the oil guard system on it? im looking at possibly getting the z361 depending on the size of lawns i get this year. i have a jd stander which i like but think the z3 would offer a better ride and i like the 11 gallon tank and 500 hour oil guard.

Oh awesome!
Yes, we ran both the 36" and 52" Ferris last season and they did great during the rainy season. We use the 52" on our large property clean up jobs. We recently posted before and after pictures in our website and Facebook. We've looked at Scags and even the electric Mean Green but I think we'll be sticking with Ferris again this season.
