I currently operate a 2019 Hustler Super Z Hyperdrive 72" equipped with flex forks and suspension seat with fore/aft isolater. It rides and handles flawlessly. I mow 10 acres of my own property, much is around farm on very rough ground, ruts, pine roots, etc.
Before purchasing my first Hustler Super Z in 2005, I demoed a Ferris, Scag, and ExMark. The Hustler by far surpassed all three in every area, smooth hydraulics, seating position, visibility of trim side of deck, etc.
I have not demoed the newer Ferris or John Deere mowers, so I have no experience with either, but others have given positive reviews.
There is more to comfort than just seat suspension, the total ergonomics of the overall mower must suit the individual operator, ease of maintenance, location of oil and hydraulic filters, ease of blade removal, quality of cut, etc.
You may even consider a Grasshopper with out front deck. The deck also flips up almost vertically for ease of maintenance under deck, blade removal and cleaning underneath deck. I wish Hustler offered a flip up deck in their large commercial mowers, it would make cleaning under deck much easier.
Wright has recently introduced a ZTR with no grease fittings, 1000 hr. hydraulic oil change interval and 500 hr. engine oil change interval using the Oil Guard system.
See link below to hear owner of company give overview of mower.
If you narrow your choices to 2-3 different mowers, I suggest you demo each with a fine tooth comb and compare the pros and cons of each before purchase. I would definitely get a mower with the oil guard system.
Everybody has their own opinion about the best or perfect mower. The perfect mower for you is the one that meets your personal requirements regardless of what I or anyone else says.
BTW, what mower do you currently operate on your property?
