My 37 hp Briggs on my 61 Wright zk sometimes will not start first thing in the am. Battery is good safeties are good. After it starts it goes all day np. Is there a fuel sensor in the fuel pump or a pressure switch in the fuel pump? It’s my first fuel injected mower so just looking for clues or if something may be going wrong,

Yes I have. What it does is turn key first turn I hear power up. I then turn the rest of the way to turn over motor and no clicking or anything like its dead or brake is disengaged. Sometimes after 3 to 4 tries it starts working and starts and goes all day without a hitch. Only thing new for me is the efi so wondered it it could be fuel pump related like a pressure sensor all other safeties are made. My other thought was maybe the switch itself. It has about 300 hours on it.

Ok update to my issue of not starting. This has been an intermittent issue. Thank God it was under warranty. We finally put the mower in the shop because it was getting worse and worse. This mower has about 350 hours on it. Their first diagnosis was the starter. Well there was not a starter to be found in North America. The mower sat in the shop for 4 weeks and the distributor had no eta for the part. When we finally got an eta for one it was 3 weeks out from there totaling 7 weeks to get a starter. It is still not in at this time. They reached out to Briggs to describe the issue and they were told it needs all the gaskets replaced as well. Heads and all. They cannot get one set of 3 sets of them in. In short this is the worst issue I have ever experienced as a contractor. I have had things fail but was able to get things repaired. I bought this 37 Briggs after researching for many hours and looking for problems and found nothing to speak of negative to sway me from buying. I thought hey I am buying American made and wanted to feel good about my switching from kawasaki only to Briggs. Well American made is BS. It is all imported from everywhere and that was a myth. I feel it is my duty to put this info out there for anyone on the fence about going Briggs. I will never buy one again. Not so much due to the problem of the motor but the fact they cannot support what they sell even by supplying simple parts to keep them running. So if you folks are using them on your machines that you are making I feel like this going to be a real problem in the near future for you because of they cannot get parts then there will be a ton if unhappy contractors out there and it is going to reflect badly on the manufacturers when these mowers are down and folks are losing money. I will post again when I finally get the machine back and see if the problem is corrected.
