Hi, I bought a new Super Z but they ONLY have flex forks as an option for these in Australia now at approx $800 AUD.
I have an X-one with about 1500 hrs I lightly use as a spare mower with flex forks. The flex forks will fit the Super Z I have been told by Hustler.
The question is:-
How many hrs are these forks good for?
Do they have serviceable parts if I change them over?
Or should I just buy new forks?
I already have 1 spare standard front wheel fork from a previous changeover to flex forks on my 66 Super Z

Remove the Flex Forks from your X-ONE and install them on your new Super Z. The Flex Forks should last you a very long time, so don't concern yourself. I've put around 1800 hrs on a set with no problems. That is not to say the torsion rubber will not fail at some point in time, but this is not something that would concern me.

To answer your question as to Flex Forks having serviceable parts, not to my knowledge.

I've seen a great deal of evidence showing the 60" VX4 deck clumping in Australian grasses. I am guessing your X-ONE has the VX4 deck, how does it handle grasses and weeds in your area? Please come back and give us your thoughts concerning the cut of new Super Z, of which I am guessing it to be equipped with a 60" VX4 deck.

My 2005 Super Z 60” with flex forks had 1200 hrs when traded. I never saw any changes as far as wear or over flexibility.

My current Super Z Hyperdrive 72” with flex forks has 720 hrs with no problems.

BTW, I have a new set, never used set of flex forks that are the same that I had on the 2005 Super Z. I'm not sure which models they would fit or if there are any changes through the years that require different forks.

Thanks for the Flex forks advice.

My old X-one 54 inch no real problems but that's had a hard life - not doing good lawns generally. Got it when starting my commercial business so put it through anything and everything.

My S Z 54 inch no real problems
My S Z 66 inch no real problems
My S Z 60 inch has just 3 hrs on it.

They all have their limits with speed and cut height being the main focus.
Obviously when wet or dewy it does to an extent. Also with long cooler season grasses like rye at times.
Weeds are an issue but I expect that with some high moisture content weeds that don't cut like grasses.

My lawns now are mostly weekly or 3 weekly cutting during peak seasons.
The weekly ones are not an issue due to amount cut off and the 3 weekly are newer schools etc that are more budget type cuts so again not an issue with quality needed. I do have plenty of 2 weekly cuts but they are factories where I use the Qwikchute in partially close position. This is due to safety with the type of crap that can be thrown .They often then need double cutting
If I thought there was a real issue I would have tried Scag. Tried to get a Scag last week when I had a warranty issue with a 2 week or more wait for my 66 but none in the country atm - December eta. I've hear good things about the mower and especially deck but needed the mower ASAP and the SZ 60 was available.
I run 2 zeros at many of the schools we do due to time restrictions. The x-one just wont do the really large areas fast enough

I have heard of issues you mentioned for quite some time but the type of work I have the mowers used for seems a good match. Also the local dealer has looked after me really well with service etc - that was the no.1 reason for Hustler being purchased.
Saying all the above though I am not that fussy. Most of my clients don't seem to be either.

Is your Super Z 60” a 2021 model with the I3M seat? If so how do you compare the I3M to the the previous Grammer seats on Hustler mowers?

My current 2018 Super Z Hyperdrive came equipped with the Grammer MSG65 with for/aft isolater.

It is but have not really had the time to play with it - got 3 hrs on it and we are having a busy wet season dealing with breakdowns on 2 Hustlers. 1st for me but if it is going to happen it will be at your busiest times:mad:
I may even read the manual if I get a chance!!!

What are the specific breakdowns you are encountering on 2 hustlers?

54 S Z got my fuses blowing. It's in for a hrs service so was timed well. Sometimes no problems at all for a few days then 2 or 3 fuses in a few minutes.
Stopped using it when that happened-replaced 10a with 15a and got it to the dealer for service.
The 66 hyperdrive blew a seal on the wheel pump? or wheel motor? not sure exactly as I said to them I just want it fixed as it is under warranty. After 10 days they replaced it under warranty. 750hrs on it only. Took that long for me to get an answer:mad: and then the discussion was either a kit put through it or a new part.
NEVER have I had problems with Hustler until this - bother dealer and the importer,

Sorry 13 hrs was on it . The employee using most of the time. Says he prefers the older seat - was firmer and not so bouncy, BUT I don't think he has played with any adjustments yet.

Yes the previous Grammer MSG65 with Fore/Aft isolater allows front to rear isolation as well as vertical suspension which gives a better ride than vertical only. This is where the Grammer seat would be my choice over the I3M.

A Hustler Super Z Hyperdrive with Flex Forks and the Grammer MSG65 is a smooth ride.
