KM 90r I swapped the combo shaft for a one piece straight shaft and its been my full-time weed eater for the last 2 yrs. Besides adjusting the valve one time and a pull rope repair I've used it everyday and I work my equipment hard and she , or it seems to thrive on that.

So am i understanding this correctly?

people arent using the string trimmer for trimming, but use the brush trimmer attachment (with the saw blade) instead for trimming? How does that work when grass is against a foundation or bricks etc?

You are misunderstanding what is being said. Nobody is doing that.

People are buying the brush cutter attachment, then switching the blade for a trimmer head. This way it can be used for both string and blade work.

Oh ok. That makes sense. I was wondering how on earth would someone use a brush blade for trimming.

thanks for the response.

Does anyone here have any experience with the power scythe attachment? I already have the 145 hedge trimmer, but they look fairly similar in design and purpose. What's the difference in the hedge trimmer and scythe attachments?
The scythe is 10" blade length, the hedge trimmer is 20" blade length. No experience with either, though from what I've read, the scythe is more balanced & less cumbersome to use for ground work / trimming.

Maybe more metal on the bottom of the scythe to prevent scratching? I've used the hedge trimmer for ground work without issues, but I can see why it could get scratched up easier than the scythe

Thoughts on the blower attachment? My only serious thought on this attachment - It could serve as a "backup" in case my main blower died mid-day.

Personally, I feel like it might be a nice gutter-cleaning machine as well. I typically climb & walk on my roof when cleaning gutters. Being mounted on a longer trimmer-shaft, it seems like you'd be able to place the blower nozzle much closer to the gutters, vs. a backpack or handheld blower. Plus, it would be much easier to transport up & down a ladder than a big backpack blower, for sure.

Does anyone use the blower attachment? How does it compare to a handheld gas blower, in terms of blowing force?
The blower attachment is probably the best deal as far as Kombi attachments go, more powerful than it looks and great for gutters

Who's laid down the $400 for the RG-KM attachment?

After getting sprayed quite a bit today by the trimmer, I'm ready to give one a try... LOL

Couple that with ALL of my gas equipment acting silly today, I'm ready to give the battery powerhead a try too...

Afterall, it's only money, right? Can't take it with us, right... LOL

I like the kma130 powerhead because I didn't want to be carrying the ap300s battery weight on my arms, and I don't mind the battery holster on my hip. But I guess the kma 135 has the ap slot and a covered port for traditional cord use also to give both options. Both have same performance.

So if I'm understanding correctly...

KMA130 is no onboard battery - must be used with a belt or backpack battery?
