Hello Lawn Site friends,

Once again, it’s been a while since I have posted here but I need your recommendations. I just recently purchased a John Deere X570 lawn tractor for my yard. It has the standard factory blades on this mower. The deck is an Accel 48 inch deck which is not bad, but you can’t order a John Deere seven iron deck. I want to replace the standard blades that came on this machine, in your opinion what would be the best set of blades to use? It is basically just for my yard which has a multitude of grasses and weeds.

The blades that I am using doesn’t seem quite to give me the cut that I want.

I appreciate your input. Also, I want to say hi to Ridin’ Green, I appreciate that you have given to me over the years.

What sized center hole does your deck have? My neighbor has an X390 IIRC, and I helped him order a set of Oregon G5's for his. It is the 48" HC deck though, so not sure that it uses the same blades as yours. Get me your blade part # off one of your blades and I'll see what I can do for you.

give that part number a google and you will have all the info you need.

If you want mulching blades the gators are good quality. If you want OEM equivalent you can buy the Deere replacements or any aftermarket. Keep in mind JD doesn't do the blade testing, rather they hire out their blade manufacturers who do that for them. I have good luck with 8ten blades. If you don't like the OEM blades then i'd try a gator, but also are you sure yours weren't cutting well because of the blade design or could it just be that they were dull?

The part number is m145476 for the blade. I can’t find info on the size of the center hole.
I found it right after I posted. Sorry to be slow getting back to you. I got a chance to go get in a mow between rains a while ago.
Based on that part number, 596-354 is the G5 for your machine. Based on my JD data info for that part number, your center hole is 3/4", not 13/16". That 1/16" does make a difference in keeping them centered and balanced. No wavy baldes are listed with that blades specs in my data though.

John Deere is showing 0.797 IN center hole for the OEM old part number on their parts website. 13/16 are shown as the center hole for non oem and for the new updated deere part number. They're all going to work just fine, pick your poision. I'd go with the gators if you didn't like the originals.

No, they may not all work "just fine".

If his are in fact, 13/16" CH and he has the same spindle shafts I had, they will not accept a 3/4" blade. If they are in fact a 3/4" CH, then they will take a blade with a larger CH, but they can most certainly be out of balance and vibrate excessively. I know from past experience.

uzupan- if you can, measure yours to be sure which version you have on your machine. Use calipers and check the CH and the spindle stub shaft both.

Thanks!! Will do
Do measure. His link is from amazon. It's not uncommon for them to not have the right info on there and you want to be sure. I am getting my specs straight from Oregon on a data PDF I have for all their blades. It shows the G5 that corresponds to your part number to have a 3//4" CH and if your machine does have a spindle shaft stub that is 13/16", then the Oregon G blades most likely will not fit without modifying them. It'll only take a few minutes and it may save you some aggravation down the road in the future from buying blades that don't fit.

According to the green store it says the bolt hole is 0.797 IN center hole. Would that be a 13/16 inch? I have not pulled the blade yet.
Yes, that is correct, and it is why I said to check your stub shaft to make sure. If the Oregon blades are still as they are listed in their PDF at 3/4", they won't fit onto a 13?16" stub IME and I had the Accel in 54" but it had the same spindles as the 48". Not trying to make it complicated for you at all. Just want to make sure you get what you are looking for.

Like i said. 13/16th, all of the links i posted show what you need. Get em on order put on em start cutting grass! The 596-354 oregon gators that I link and Ridin referenced are 13/16th. Don't get paralysis from analysis, just get what you need and get back to work!

not sure what oregon pdf ridin is looking at but here's their website, with the blade, showing 13/16.

Why are you trying to fix what isn't broke?
Deere part no. UC22009 (was M145476) for your X570/48" deck application is a superior blade delivering that signature John Deere cut.
.

he said he wasn't super happy with the deere oem blades so we gave him some gators to try.

I will say, he probably should have just PM'd ridin green as it seems that's really all he posted for was to get advice fro him. I gave mine, provided 3 links to perfectly good blades that he could chose from. Then it turned into a whole lot more than it needed too.

Hope you find your blade OP!
