It’s a touch better.
-I mean I used the front loader of the tractor and a helper bar and still didn’t get much movement.
-then I used the bucket to hold down the mower and used a Jack under the bracket.
neither did much to help
Throwing in the towel. It’s gunna take a real shop to get this dent out (or at least better)
At this point it’s just an ego thing wanting it fixed. I can’t lose to a dent!

Totally understand. ;)

If I remember correctly, you said that the dent did not effect the over all deck, just the bracket.
On level ground, set you machine up the way you would normally cut. Take the long bolt, slide it threw the good side, with a small hand level if you have one, with the bolt level, mark it where the bolt touches the bent bracket. If you have enough meat left, drill another hole. Just make sure you have room for the rollers before you drill......

I had thought about that also but there are multiple holes in the bracket and it won’t work.
On the bad side, back fill the holes with J B Weld, then drill a new hole that matches the good side hole you will use.......

my super mechanically inclined buddy just said he’d take a look at it and help me if that shop doesn’t call me back. He said he’d heat it and get it handled. One way or the other, we’ll win!

Good luck. I would take the welded brackets off near the dent....probably fighting the straightening by being there. Im awful at body work though...dont listen to me.

I’m sorry I don’t understand this? Not sarcastically. I truly don’t know whatcha mean?

Hi all:
I'm having quite a difficult time getting a few parts that would help me complete this job. I've tried to order on line and my orders end up being in a perennial processing phase. Local dealer is no longer a dealer either.

Does anybody have a good source to get a few scag deck / height adjust parts:
i'm seeking the:
deck level lever: part 485528
the adjsuter screw with the blue on it: 04107-04
deck latch spring: 483600

some small relatively inexpensive parts but can't seem to get them to finish the job.

I greatly appreciate anybody's help

Didn't show the -04, but may help you to find it....

thanks hal
the amazon link lists not in stock: i clicked the link. I actually saw that also prior to no avail.
interesting thing: both those sites (scagpartsonline.com and scagparts.com) don't have the parts in stock. And scagpartsonline is who has me in perennial processing mode after almost a week on order.
i even called and spoke to them today, and they are calling me back at somepoint (but i doubt it) and my trust in them shipping is low.
but i super appreciate you searching and trying.
grrrr...so frustrating

Hi Derwood:

Give them a call and ask if they will ship to you. You would have to pay shipping if you ordered online......

Derwood and Breezmeister:
Thank you. I'll be calling them shortly.
Being out west, larger lawns are reserved to the few homeowners and mostly wineries. Therefore, very few shops keep what's needed in stock for larger machines.
I'll be giving them a call shortly.
Thank you for your help.

Just sharing my journey basically at this point.

I just want to say I am very far below average when it comes to my mechanical skills. So I’m quite proud of myself for what I accomplished today as well as wondering why everyone doesn’t service their own stuff.

-hydro fluid and filter
-fuel filter
-inner and outter air filter
-oil and filter
-greased all needed zirks
-adjusted the tracking (straight as an arrow now). Doing this sucks! Not mechanically hard, just a pain in the arse to get to the rod

The other day I sharpened all the new blades. Waiting on some new spacers

she puuuuurs like a kitten now and I can’t wait to cut with her.

Greasing note: I purchased the lock n lube grease gun. What a difference that coupler makes. I grease my tractor but decided just to buy a new gun with the coupler. It’s a life changer. Greasing sucks. Those guys got it right. Get one (or at least the coupler). Holy crap it’s clean and easy.

-the metal shop I contacted actually has a kid at my kids school. So when he’s free, he’s going to come to the house with his rig and fix my deck dent.

that’s it for now.
thanks for being a part of my journey at this point. Maybe someone down the road will read this and it’ll help. Maybe not. But why not share I guess.

just an update:

-scagparts.com and scagpartsonline.com have been a total sham at best. Thanks for nothing!

-ordering from dealer was more of a: "it'll be a while, everything is totally back ordered and could be weeks before we see anything"

-huge shout out to POWERMOWERSALES.COM!!! I have already received parts I ordered on line. I have also called in to get the deck level lever and some other (apparently hard things to get).
When calling in, you speak to a kind, informed, willing to give time kind of person. They said we don't have this and that part in stock, they will call their distibutor (assuming scag) and see if they have the parts on hand to ship to them (while your on the phone with them).
All the so hard to find parts that would normally take forever have already arrived at their facility and have been shipped already...huge shoutout to them

-should be cutting with the new machine by tuesday or wednesday of next week!
