I still haven’t sold that Turfmaster. I’ve had some nibbles and burnt up time dragging it out and showing it but never sunk the hook. A week ago someone contacted me talking about trading it for the Ybravo and I’ve been nulling over it.

I don’t bag a lot in the fall but I do for about a month. The Turfmasters great for bagging but it’s cumbersome and has a homeowner sized bag. The Ybravo is reckoned to be a monster bagging unit and looks to have possibly double the collection capacity, while looking way more maneuverable.

The Hrx217 has been my go to bagging mower, especially for utility work like cleaning up bushes and various debris. It has poor suction and I can’t find any blades with decent lift so I’m left making two passes on leaves and debris. I know it’s not a toro sr4 but might the Ybravo be a good leaf mulching tool? The Sw15 is a super duper leaf mulcher but I don’t like loading down the belts and pullies with thick leaves.

What about having a Ybravo 25” with kohler cv224cc? I think I could negotiate the trade with the terms being that I put the kawi fj180 back on the Turfmaster. I’m really getting tempted to go for it and try an actual bagging mower for a season. Just the thought of swapping on a much more powerful engine gets me all Tim Taylor over here 💪🏼💪🏼

I don't have any experience with either mower to share, but that just got some wheels turning! A CV224 on a YBravo 25. It might be a way to have similar reliability to an old Toro Proline, and similar productivity to a Timemaster/Turfmaster/30X. I want you to do it and tell us how it goes! One lawn maintenance employee I talked to that had a 30x and a 25" YBravo on their trailer said that the 30x was faster and smoother though, so who knows.

I mean, I don’t bag a whole lot, just a few smaller yards when the leaves get too thick to mulch up nicely. I usually make a few perimeter passes blowing the leaves towards the middle and bag with the Honda. I’m going to look into the Hondas shaft size and try to put on a blade holder that’ll mount some kind of high lifts. After thinking about it I don’t want to trade a mower in the way with another mower in the way. If I can get some good vacuum on the Honda I’ll be straight.
