I have 2 questions regarding the sticker used with quinclorac. My salesman sold me Brandt Super 7 with quinclorac. The label calls for methylated seed oil and super 7 is not MSO. Quinclorac call for MSO @.55oz/1k ,
Super 7 calls for 1-3oz/5gal. Which label do you follow, herbicide or sticker ?

1. Can I use Super 7 with quinclorac?
2. What label Amount do you follow when an adjuvant calls for less than the herbicide or insecticide label?

thanks

Herbicide label. It’s formulated to work with xx amount of adjuvant. Each herbicide might require a different amount or different adjuvant altogether where as the adjuvant doesn’t care how much or what herbicide it’s being used with. I don’t know Super 7 all that well but I’m guessing it’s a soil penetrant as well and can be used by itself as a soil penetrant but it’s usually at a pretty heavy rate compared to when being used as a surfactant.

Adjuvants and various spreader-stickers are somewhat unregulated.
Read the label carefully.
The salesman can tell you anything. If he had data or proof that his product actually worked--he would have showed you.
It is best to try it yourself--compare the same product on the same weed before and after adding surfactant.
Compare how it looks when you spray--and more important--compare the effectiveness after 7 days.
I have done some tests at times a few years back. I will have to go back and search my old posts about surfactants. And also, the results from other members. And from various university turf departments.

DriveXLR8 herbicide label for starters....

Additives in Spray Mix to Achieve Control Methylated seed oil is the preferred adjuvant for postemergence applications. However, if an MSO is not available in your region, the use of a crop oil concentrate (COG) or other high quality surfactant must be used in the spray tank at the time of application. Refer to actual product label for use rates and use directions.

Brandt Super 7 says 1 oz per gallon in a backpack........

Super 7 also calls for 1-3oz per 5gal of water for turf. I believe it would be okay, I tested in my neighbors law. Last week and it’s starting to brown a bit now with no visible injury. I’ve read the label and just wanted to ask others opinions and experiences on how the mix and handle surfactants because I personally do not have much experience with them.

Crabgrass is a bit hairy--particularly in the young stages (newly sprouted seedlings). There is a chance that a spray product might "bead-up" and run off.
Side by side comparisons are better proof of the effects of a spreader-sticker. With photographs.
It is best to compare the herbicide in question on the weed you are trying to kill.
And also, of course, watch for phytotoxicity--you do not want damage to the good grass.
And be sure the product you use does not cause a foaming problem in the tank. Agitation can cause lots of foam at times.
Of course, 1 to 3 ounces per 5 gallons, is 20 to 60 ounces per 100 gallons--that could get expensive. So spot spray or backpack might be more suited to the situation.

The Drive XLR8 is the only quinclorac product that I know of that does not say MSO exclusively. A generic Quinclorac will need an MSO to work effectively. Site One had it in quart squirt bottles that work perfectly for running a backpack

Tried my best to only post it once but I could not delete it but yes whomever this is has had the same exact results I have had using dish soap with drive / quinclorac. So real world don’t meant sheet ok. People so fast to call bs on you when youve really actually done it and it works at a fraction of the cost of what the dealer wants for mso. Ok. I’m full of it I guess as normal.

Personally nothing imo works great on crab after about three tillers imo. Again just me. I can turn it purple with quinclorac and it just comes back to life. Nowadays I’ll tell customers if they come on mid season I’ll get that next year with pre ems not going to waste a ton of $ trying to make them feel better about something that will come back.

I can also tell you exactly how to kill dallis grass even in the middle of summer no matter when and with what you have on hand if you can believe it. Yes holy cow I alone hold the secret to doing this LOL. But yea I can and do all the time.

Quick and dirty you have a few clumps in a lawn you need to get rid of… get urea (46-0-0 for those not in the know) and put about a tablespoon worth right dead center or the dallis grass plant. Do not water or otherwise for a week. It’s dead and dirt.

Option 2 which is what I do a lot of coming up but I also do a lot of the previous.

One gallon MSM normal rate plus 1/4 cup urea pre dillution, plus a tad of sticker of your choosing . This is going to be a hot mix so you have to be very careful. Spray dallis with this.
