I passed my Class A CDL test yesterday. I just noticed on the temporary license paper that it says endorsments-none. But I took it on an air brake truck and trailer and did all the air brake tests! Did I get screwed?
As mentioned in the other thread...the folks at the DMV are useless idiots. Useless, uninformed idiots.I'd suggest he contacts his DMV. What's he gonna say, "But gee officer, the guys at the lawnmowing forum told me I'd be just fine with these endorsements, and I have no idea why I couldn't stop for the school bus picking up kids...."
Was Google translate involved?PS I answered the run-on sentence in the other thread.
Say what?I have a 5th wheel restriction on mine because I tested with a dump truck. But the truck had air brakes and my license doesn’t mention anything about air brakes. I think it’s a restriction if you don’t test with them.
It broke when I pasted it.Was Google translate involved?
That’s what I thought too. He has a B. No such thing as a “5th wheel restriction”.Say what?
Isn't that called a "Class B"?
It's right after the air brake endorsement. That’s what I thought too. He has a B. No such thing as a “5th wheel restriction”.
No because a class B is only for straight truck with up to a 10,000 pound trailer. I don’t have a trailer weight restriction. They call it a class a 57.Say what?

I'll bite...what state? No because a class B is only for straight truck with up to a 10,000 pound trailer. I don’t have a trailer weight restriction. They call it a class a 57.
Or just post the regs from whatever goggle result you get,cuz your state's DMV/SOS likely has the wrong info on their website. No because a class B is only for straight truck with up to a 10,000 pound trailer. I don’t have a trailer weight restriction. They call it a class a 57.
Appears to be a tennessee thing since all the mentions I find on Google refer to TN - and I've read it 3 times and have no idea what it meansI'll bite...what state?
Told you it was right next to the air brake endorsement.Nothing I can find seems to say what exactly the 57 restriction is restricting
edit: In TN they have a special CDL class A/57 for that. It's a special Class A with a 57 restriction code which is for a special group of combination vehicles. You can pull that wedge trailer and things like mobile homes going to market or even a dump truck pulling a dozer but you can't drive a semi. You'll do your road test with that wedge trailer.
TN.I'll bite...what state?
I took the test in my dump truck pulling my 14k pintle hitch equipment trailer.Nothing I can find seems to say what exactly the 57 restriction is restricting

Not sure if I got lucky or all the different restrictions weren't around when I got mine, but I took the skills test in a truck with an automatic and never got that restriction. I'm good to go on most anything except tankers or doubles. So weird.
I'm gonna say it again.... Glad I have had my Class A so long. Don't have to worry about all this crap. My bro has to get his..... $$$$$$ now.
I have tanker and double/triple.Not sure if I got lucky or all the different restrictions weren't around when I got mine, but I took the skills test in a truck with an automatic and never got that restriction. I'm good to go on most anything except tankers or doubles.
