Can anyone recommend a good 300W transformer? I want the photocell included or built into the unit. The one I am replacing has 12V, 13V, 14V, and 15V and a COM.
I am not sure what wires go to what voltage. It looks like 3 are plugged into the 15V.

I am not that skilled in this stuff so I would like it to be an easy switchover.

Thanks much......

Study up on transformers, even home depots cheapie ones, look at their user guides and easy set ups

Skip the photocell and go with an astronomical timer. I like the FX DX for a basic transformer. Spendy but very user friendly which is good for my clients who can figure out how to stream Netflix to their phone when they are camping out of cell range, but can't
seem to figure out how to program a damn lighting or irrigation timer

Hayduke..... Yikes, it seems they are in the $300 range. Too pricey for me.

How about this timer..... https://www.amazon.com/KhanTech-Landscape-Astronomic-Transformer-programmable/dp/B08BHR25X3
I can't vouch for that one. As a professional. I find what works, what is repeatable and reliable and usually stick with that on every job. Callbacks to a job to fix something or replace something are costly and disruptive to my schedule. Thus my choice of the FX DX. I am sure there are plenty of other reliable timers out there.

I haven't used the DX. Have used a fair amount of Luxor controllers and if the power goes out, it relies on the wifi connection to re-establish current time. My question is, what is the memory feature for the DX since it's not hooked up to wifi? I have researched it out of curiosity in the past but couldn't find any information on backup battery or non volatile memory used to keep updated time and date in the event of being unplugged or power outages.

That's a good question I don't have the answer for. I assume it's like most modern, non wi-fi irrigation timers that have non-volatile program memory and will retain the current time up to about 3 hours of power loss, but I could be wrong. we don't do a ton of lighting installs, mostly in conjunction with other landscape installations. I have probably installed 10 of these in the last two years and never once had a call back or questions from a client on how to re-program. Whereas with irrigation controllers it seems a constant issue with clients not understanding the programming. That's all I know....would be good to find out the answer to your question....
