Ok, a bit misleading, but is technically a zero turn... but I wouldn't want to see the turf damage it causes... LOL

Another one staged to ship out, cab, blade, ripper etc. shipped separately. (220,000lbs)

Well that will leave a mark when turning.....

Those chains probably aren't going to do much, when needed, knowing the weight of that thing.
There's another 6 or 8 chains you don't see in addition to the 12 chains on the outside, it isn't going anywhere. I can tell you for a fact in an accident it may roll over, but it stays securely chained to the trailer. We had one involved in an accident a few years ago that overturned...when the crane returned it to upright it was still securely chained in place... the same could not be said for the driver that ran almost head-on into 300,000lbs. It did however scratch the tracks on the Cat and gouge the blacktop up a bit... 😉

I have seen some companies skimp on properly securing these beasts and simply shake my head.

I guess at that level, it's more about securing the trailer to the dozer, right...? ;)

(What's impressive is how easily steel-tracked equipment will slide off the side of a trailer.)

Do you for CAT or a dealer by chance?

Old job, we did a lot of re-man work on the undercarriages of D8-D11 dozers. Mostly D10 & D11. Big stuff...

We had a tiny D3 for site work and grading back in the day. Fantastic little zero turn.

A family friend had a D8, and that blade width was gigantic.

The D11 High Track is a whole class above the rest Quarry/Mining Beast, in it's own right. Cost more than most single working class persons would earn in their lifetime.

What do you reckon that cat sets a fella back - new ??
This has price ranges listed in it

Short video on its history. He says with inflation, the current D11 is just over 3 million. The one in the pic above must be brand new recently as it has no letter after the D11 number. The prior version is the D11T, before that the D11R and originally the D11N. I follow a lot of mining stuff on YT. I am something of a dozer fan LOL

EXACTLY!!! :ROFLMAO:

And yes, I have seen guys put them off the side many times without a spotter to keep them centered!! Luckily it doesn't typically do any damage to the dozer, but usually scares the spit outta the operator!!

No, we just haul them to the job sites. But I am right here in Cat country where they build them. The D11's are built about 2 miles from my house.

Big stuff indeed! I think the D8 is my favorite as it's just so flexible for so many different jobs. Have you ever seen two D9's working together on a single 40' blade? One pulling left front and one pushing right rear... I saw that at the Cat proving grounds back in '79 or '80, moved a LOT of dirt!! LOL

Have you ever operated one??

Edited to add: The new models don't have a letter, it's simply the D11.

No, but I sure would love to before I die. Problem is, I only have 2.5 mil to spend right now.................
I'm not sure where you're located, but I know a guy... he works for Cat at the proving grounds. 😉
