Hopefully will be a good year. All employees returning. Started back with about half my guys today. Phones ringing. Few cancels I didn’t expect, but there’s always some of those.
Lots of calls here today. Let's go!

Max is heading out today for his first day of spraying fertilizer applications. It's exciting, though I feel a bit apprehensive. But growth comes with teaching and letting go, and this will get me 100% out of the field.

The numbers this season are both interesting and a bit concerning:

  • 2024 estimates sent YTD: 152, with 62 wins
  • 2025 estimates sent YTD: 62, with 26 wins
  • 2024 gross: $63K
  • 2025 gross: $74K

So what’s your thought on those numbers?
I'm hoping the estimate count doesn't indicate a downward trend. I will be able to tell next month. We are staying busier which is great. I will be doing almost all of the quotes this year, which will make them more accurate.

We have a team meeting every Monday and we start off with a positive focus. I'm thinking about what is going well so far this year.
  • All employees returned from last season
  • I'm out of the field
  • The weather has been reasonable for this time of year
  • I didn't run out of $$$ over the winter :ROFLMAO:
  • Lots of leads coming in

Please share your positive focus. :)

Interesting YTD Numbers

I thought these year-to-date numbers might be of interest to the group:

  • Revenue is up by 23.5%

Estimate Counts:
  • 2024 Estimate Sent: 230
  • 2025 Estimate Sent: 194

Estimates Won:
  • 2024 Estimates Won: 93
  • 2025 Estimates Won: 60

I do feel there are more price shoppers this year. Revenue is up due to a combination of factors: the weather, efficiency, and a price increase. Also, I started off with a full crew from last year, which has helped with productivity.

This is great.

What I have seen as well is those who are putting in systems and optimizing their online marketing while people who are sitting on the sidelines are slowing their growth or shrinking.

If you want to grow now is a great time!

I like to track the previous year's comparison report in QuickBooks. Gross is up by 30%, and we're profitable, whereas last year at this time, we were facing a loss. However, I'm feeling anxious about the economy, as our close ratio has significantly dropped.

Some of my clients have dropped their fertilizer programs.

March is going to end up down over last year for us. Not by a lot. However, I started my regular mowing schedules earlier last year than this year. Without digging into my numbers yet I believe weather is going to be my only variable. We missed last Monday as well due to rain… but definitely concerned about the economy as well.
