I currently use a Craftsman Riding Mower, a Honda 21" HRB216TDA and two Toro walk behind mowers on 1.5 acres. All of these mowers were found on the street and started on the first turn of the key or pull of the rope. Two are electric start. Some pics of the HONDA HRB216TDA.

Here's my question. I have another opportunity to retrieve another Toro lawn mower. It's currently in N. Indianapolis IN. I live in S. MI so this would be a time and space consideration for me. It has a brand new carb. and had a professional overhaul about two years ago. No engine work just maint. I started this mower last fall.
Does anyone know what the fair market value for a fully functioning pull start walk behind mower is in today's current market? TY

Thanks, I think I'll let it sit in Indy for the winter. I don't understand why people don't either treat the gas or drain it out at the end of each season. I told the owner of this mower that there was water at the bottom of the gas tank. Too late, as she already bought a new mower and will likely do the same thing this fall.
Does anyone here in the forum like Star Tron, or is Ethanol Shield the go-to water remover and stabilizer?

I like the ethanol free fuel going into storage.

Okay, thanks.
A little more help, please. The Honda HRB216TDA, pictured above, had the forward drive stop working yesterday. The symptom was that the drive would not disengage when turning around, so I stopped mowing, and then I went to troubleshoot the issue. At that point, there was no wheel drive at all. I took the bottom housing apart today and checked the drive cables. The handle drive cable still works. I made cable adjustments and still nothing. My guess is a bad speed 1, 2, 3, speed selector cable? It has a bit of rust coming out of the plastic cable cover in one spot. I need to figure out how to install a new cable or how to remove the old one.

Thanks for the transmission info., Joe. I'll look up that procedure.
The oily substance that you see in the pic. is Fluid Film. I had just cleaned the bottom to inspect the clutch cable, belt, and transmission cable. I also applied belt dressing to the belt, which is still good. It appears that these Honda mowers go through cables and transmissions. It appears to me that the transmission cable comes attached to the transmission. I cannot see how to replace that cable unless the trans. is removed.

This is the Toro GTS 21" (Personal Pace) mower that came from Indianapolis IN. It was delivered part way with water in the old gas in the tank. The fuel was flash tested and was dead. Poured fresh gas in that had Ethanol Shield in it and this mower started on the first pull. The drive cable needed a 1/4" adjustment and it runs great. This mower even came with two carbs. and two new air filters in the original B & S boxes. It's a keeper.
