• LawnSite Homepage Upgrade

    Hello again LawnSite community,

I wanted to post a quick note to let you know that the homepage of LawnSite will experience a major upgrade later this week. We’re always looking for ways to improve our users’ experience on the site, and felt that this upgrade was needed and long overdue..

With this upgrade, you’ll now see the top trending posts as soon as you visit LawnSite, and these will be updated throughout the day. You can also easily access videos and photos. As always, we encourage you to include videos and photos in your own posts to share with your fellow LawnSite users.

Be assured that all of the forums, content and data that you’ve been accustomed to will remain intact, as will all current site features. You’ll also be able to easily access the full list of forums directly from our new homepage.

We’re excited to bring you this change, and look forward to hearing your feedback.

    Thanks, LawnSite Team

  1. What are you paying for Gas?

Filled up today (Friday) at $4.19; regular unleaded.
  2. What are you paying for Gas?

It's called greed and it'll never go away. No matter what happens the price of gas will never go back down to what it was before Katrina. That gave them their first real insight as to how the American public with their big cars and SUV's would continue going about their every day lives...
  3. Don't work for friends!

Guess that's where I'm a little different. I'd piss on their lawn even if it wasn't on fire. In fact...I'd take my dog over to their yard and let her piss and crap all over it too....but that's just me.
  4. I'm glad I got out of the "LAWN GAME"!

Thanks GARDENS55 and razor1. It's taken me one heck of a lot of time and practice to reach this stage of the game, but it looks like it's going to pay off. Razor1, I just started getting into painting motorcycles and love it. I've also been looking at a new market which is going to be...
  5. I'm glad I got out of the "LAWN GAME"!

It's been quite a while since I've posted on this or any other lawn forum, but it's good to hear so many positive attitudes about the business. Especially when you consider the profit margins are dropping at such a drastic rate. As for me, I've been slowly working my way out of the business...
  6. Future of lawncare business?

True, they have rights, but they don't have the same rights to the freedoms of LEGAL U.S. citizens. That's where you're wrong. My grandparents came over from Scotland and Ireland and had to go through all kinds of garbage to become legal citizens. They went to war for this country and so did...
  7. What are you paying for Gas?

I was lucky today and found a station selling regular at $2.72.
  8. What are you paying for Gas?

Obviously that judge doesn't know the difference between constitutional rights and human rights. That's when the people need to come together and demand the removal of that judge from his/her position. Then elect a new judge to fill the position. We do have the right as US citizens to remove...
  9. Future of lawncare business?

Something drastic needs to happen about the illegals, and I agree with you B_G. I'd like to see a bill passed stating something to the effect of: Anyone, business or homeowner, who knowingly and willingly hires an illegal immigrant will be subjected to no less than one year in prison with a...
  10. What are you paying for Gas?

Good questions B_gerrits. This is where we, as voters, need to do our part by ignoring the basic, run of the mill, news sources and dig a little deeper. I did a quick google search and came up with quite a few alternative political parties. For example, this is a newer political party with an...
  11. Future of lawncare business?

You make some good points rsp, and I too used to love this business. What you're failing to keep in mind is you're not in competition with immigrants; you're in competition with illegal immigrants. If you think you can live in poverty or without the luxuries in life; try their way of life...
  12. What are you paying for Gas?

I honestly don't think the answer to our problems lies with either of them (Democrats or Republicans). We really need to make a change in the gov't and the people running it. The only people I've been able to find qualified and passionate enough to make the change run as independents. There's...
  13. Future of lawncare business?

First I'd like to say excellent post Roger. Not only well said, but so true. B_gerrits, thanks for the idea and info. To be honest I'm simply not that interested in pursuing different ways to beat a dead horse. This next year I'll be using the profits from the lawn business toward setting...
  14. Future of lawncare business?

I've run across this too, but it doesn't happen that often. When you have someone telling you a bunch of horror stories about some other business keep in mind that they're not always telling you the whole story. Or some times they're just fishing for a lower price from someone who's willing to...
  15. What are you paying for Gas?

Democrats...Republicans...it doesn't matter which controls the country. They're all a bunch of greedy crooked thieving low lives who have taken their turns ruining a great nation. None of them are in it to help the people. They're only concerned about the quest for money and power. As for a...
  16. What are you paying for Gas?

Already been discussed here many of times. Pulling that kind of weight in a truck which wasn't designed for it is a big no go. Not only will you have to deal with the total lack of towing power but you'll also have problems with the transmission. It would be the equivalent of towing a lawn...
  17. Prices for leaf removal

Yea, there's a lot of times I really miss the mountains and the "real" outdoors. Can't really find any of that in this area. Oh, and the skiing SUCKS!!! The places around here take me all of a minute to get to the bottom and there's no challenging runs at all. They're great for 5 year olds...
  18. What are you paying for Gas?

Yesterday the local news channel reported the gas prices being $.87/gal higher than this time last year. I'll never understand why the people in this country don't pay attention to the things which lower their standard of living. 10 years ago, when my daughter was born, the price of gas was...
  19. What are you paying for Gas?

Isn't it just great knowing we're being slowly conditioned to accept the outrageous gas prices? Here's an idea to give everyone in the country a break: The gas tax enacted by Clinton to pay off the national deficit should be removed since it did pay off the deficit during his stay in office...
  20. Prices for leaf removal

I grew up in Lander, Wyo. and remember quite a few wild winters. Funny thing is...is they're not as bad or cold as they used to be. When I was on the cross country skiing team we constantly had to practice and compete with the temps down around -10 to -15 degrees. What really sucked was...
