I narrowed it down to either a Gravely HVZ 2350 (50" deck) ZTR for $2,800

    Or a Scag Walk Behind SW36a-16kAI with a 36" deck for $2,700

As you can see I am still torn between a W/B or a ZTR. I am leaning more towards the W/B but everyone thinks I'm crazy to mow this School yard on foot.

Let me know what you guys think about these 2 brands. Remember my price range is $3,000. Also keep in mind that I have 2 other small commercial accounts (small office buildings) and I plan on focusing on more small commercial jobs until I can service bigger ones. I plan on doing some residential but have decided to go with more upscale bigger homes.

Alot of the posts in here mention the use of a 48" walk-behind. Guess what my large mower is? You got it--a 48"walk behind. For $3K, I would look at buying a low-hours hydro vs. a new belt drive. When it starts to get wet, you'll lose some control with a belt, especially on slopes. Hydro is the way to go. Oh, and unless you're a glutton for punishment don't buy any residential grade rider. It'll die way before a commercial walk-behind.
