We just did a 15 yard black mulch job.
We were able to spread 10-12 right off the dump truck.

Most are around $85-125 per yard spread with out extras.
Extras:
Bed prep- $20 yard
Fabric-$20 square yard installed
SnapShot- $10 yard
Trimming Hourly
Debris Disposal- by the yard

$105 per cubic yard of mulch installed. That includes, edging, cutting the border, and whatever is required to make it look perfect.

I hate doing mulch, so I bid it high, so that the price focussed people find someone else, and the ones that agree, I can confidently do a great job without feeling like im being taken advantage of.

Im not looking to get every job, and don't care if I am out bid by other companies. The customers who pay my price get a noticeably better job than the other companies competing with me.

I pay $45 per yard and have starting price of $150 per yard. That is for a front bed easy access with easy dumping and spreading with less than 10 minutes of prep. Took deposit today for a 2 yard install that will be $250 per yard. Has access issues.

We're typically $100 yd unless there are access issues. We pay around $35 yd. This includes BASIC prep. If it's more than 10 min per yd of bed prep, we charge more.

Edging is always extra. We're generally $1 ft on that.

Many people don't realize how much mulch they generally need. Say they need 4 yds of mulch... They look at their beds and think, "I bet I need 25 bags of mulch". They think the total mulch price should be $75 + $25 in labor because "you're a pro and can install it quick".

I agree with mark, people look at their bed and think in terms of how many bags to get the 2 inch depth!

I’m at the same figures as Mark, let the price shoppers continue to shop and make someone else miserable!
