1st time renovating...

So, I am in this housing plan passing out door hangers, and I just finished putting a hanger on this gentlemens door when he stops and aks me if we renovate lawns. Of course I did the smart thing and answered with a yes, and to be honest it is something I definately would like to do. For those of you with experience doing this type of thing is there any special equipment I need to pull this off with? What is the usual process for this procedure, and what is the going rate per acre, this particular yard is about 1/4 of an acre.
