I am close to buying an exmark and have two options with my local dealer. I am purchasing this to use at my own residence and will only use 100 hr per year. Which mower should I buy?

    - HP 52", 23hp Kawaski preowned 2001 with 800 hours $4,000

    - HP 52", 20 Kohler new 2003 for $6,500

The used 2001 was used commercially, but I reviewed maintaince records and it appears to be well maintained.

    Please advise.

    Flip a coin........................
Personally for me 20 horsepower is not enough for a 52" deck
but I'm not just cutting my own lawn either.
demo both of them and decide what is right for YOU.

The used machine will serve you well as a homeowner, and I believe the new HP will also serve you well as a homeowner.

Personally I think either machine will work fine for you. A commercial operator would probably need the 23 hp on a 52" deck because time is money and many of thier customers only want the lawn cut once per week instead of when it needs cut. In your case you'll most likely cut the lawn when it is needed and not on a set schedule. If that is the case 20 hp will be more than enough power.
