What do you guys think a 2001 52" 17hp unknown hours Turf Tracer HP is worth?
Pictures help a lot or at least a detailed description of damage and everything.
I only have a few cell pics from the guy. It looks in decent shape all the stickers are still on no rust the only paint that is missing is on the trim side of the deck. I Think its in good shape for a 01. What deck was used on the 01?
Did that deck have any big problems?
None that I'm aware of, but I've heard of clumping in wet conditions. Who hasn't had grass clump up in wet conditions? I'm talking soaking wet not just damp. Keep the deck clean, keep the blades sharp and you should be good. I'd also recommend taking a look at Fluid Film to undercoat your deck to help with scraping and if you're in need of a catcher look no further than Accelerator, they are not cheap, but I wouldn't buy another brand catcher.
Those mowers hold their value pretty well. I have a 48 inch 2002 with the 17 Kawi electric start. If it runs cuts and drives well with all maintenace up to date I'd put it in the $1,500 to $2000 range. It would have been about $5000 new. I would go over it really carefully though.
The guy wants 3,000 with i think is allot, so im just trying to get a idea what to offer him. I can't look had it because it 3hr away and don't have the time to go. Is 17HP enough power?
17 is ample on my 48. It should be fine. $3,000 seems like a lot for a 10 year old mower, but like I said, they hold their value well. They're a nice well built dependable mower that leave a nice cut. The only thing is I wish they had a roller bearing for the front casters. They use what I would call bushings (they call them bearings though) that need to be greased farily often, but it's easy and not a big deal. They're cheap and easy to replace.
Does it have the ECS handles? I think that was the first year they offered them.
Yes it has ecs handles. I was thinking of starting out at 2,000$
