250 c.i. sixes

    HI, looking for info on 250 six bangers.<br>I have one and i'm wondering what kind of<br>gas mileage anyones getting.Currently running<br>a 350 thinking of swapping to the 250, but don't want to if mileage is about the same.

    I had an '80 with a manual(column shifter) 3- speed. It wouldn't pull the hat off your head in first(geared too high!) but got 24 mpg on the road. It made about 8 trips to Fla and the mileage was figured over the whole trip. If I could have gotten a 4-speed overdrive I would still have it. Let alone a 5-speed.<br> By slow filling both tanks, I could drive the 1,000 miles to Orlando!
