Does anyone have any experience's with these engines, what kind of problems have you had with them? The good bad and the ugly? What is the life expectancy of this engine? Most hours you have put on one?

the more i think about it the more i'm liking the kohler engines. the valves never need adjusting and some of them have the oil filter on top of the engine to make oil changes a snap.

The Kohler V-Twins are just like any other engine. The huge majority of them are fine and last a long time. You do occassionally have one that is a lemon. If you get one of the good ones (highly likely) you can expect at least 3,000 hours out of it.

I'm at 1500 hours on mine and it hasn't missed a beat. I had an oil analysis done last year and the results told me to just keep doing what I've been doing and to expect many more hours out of the engine.
