30hp kohler has less power

I work with a 2006 Toro 72" with the air cooled kohler motor on it. Recently we had noticed that engaging the blades would almost kill the mower. Returning from vacation I found the mower in the shop with the belt tore in two. Turns out the middle spindle was bent, but no obvious damage to blades, bolt bracket etc.... It has now returned from the shop and it does not have the same power as before it went in. I took it to the dealer today, but you know how it goes.... "it doesn't have the same power", "Well, mechanic checked everything etc......" One of those really hard to diagnose problems mower shops hate to get. And I know all this, and really didn't want to bring it in, but it REALLY does not have the power the old one did (2002 model) or the loaner they let us use while they fixed ours (2006 72" water cooled). Or for that matter the power it had before it broke. If it had had the problems going through "good cutting grass" it has now I would have noticed. Any help? Thanks, DaveVB
