i got a text the other day that someone had come up and offered to mow their yard for 50 dollars every week or 35 dollars every two weeks and asked if I could beat that price. I told them no because first of all that price doesn't make sense to me and more so I'm not price matching or lowering prices ill just replace the yard because how in the hell do you charge more for weekly then biweekly. also 35 dollars anit really gonna cover the cost of fuel in my mower or truck. looked up the guy his using a lowes john deere mower so i don't know how those are but if its like my hustler then his gonna have issues with that grass

Lordy more power to him that’s just well is what it is. I don’t like to jump to conclusions but I’m 3 decades into this biz sounds like a tweaker or someone needing cash for drugs and I’m usually running about a 90% correct rate.
I looked up his company and it seems like he came from a handyman service to lawn care so I have no idea but the pricing thing got me plus one free gutter cleaning a year seems like his leaving out a lot of money. which maybe its the first year's prices than the next he jumps up 50%. maybe it's like a dish network promotion

I’ll add ,.. usually loss leaders have huge bankrolls that the entire purpose they can under charge you out of existence for years and years until you capitulate. I doubly this is the strategy here just saying .

I would stick to the “original” text. And say this… I cannot mow your lawn every other week for $35 I would lose money so I am actually suggesting if you can believe that to take this person up on their offer of every other week at $35. If this doesn’t work out please do not hesitate to call me.

Eh
The customer got confused and misunderstood the guy
35 weekly
50 EOW

You can cut lawns for 35 a week still
If it takes you 30 minutes that’s $70 an hour
Some solos can still make it doing that rate.
it’s possible
I haven’t seen the lawn
nope on the flyer the customer sent it to me, it was 50 dollars weekly and 35 dollars biweekly and took me 30-45 minutes depending but its a little under half an acre yard

Maybe the guy is doing what Lawnsite "pros" claim they do when they say they charge double or more for biweekly in order to convince people to have it cut weekly instead.

Maybe this guy DOESN'T WANT to mow weekly? Maybe he only wants to mow every other week?

I dunno... just trying to imagine other ways to rationalize this.

I wouldn't even do my tiny, city lawns for $25.
I'd literally be better off keeping my winter Walmart job year round.

And I don't advertise on Facebook for that very reason - seems like everyone is looking for the cheapest - at least around here anyway. I don't use FB - at all - but my wife does.
I told my wife "Don't even mention me" when people post about "looking for someone to cut my grass".
