I mean I do 57 yards right now and I do driveways to and junk removal I do a lot but I also work a full-time job but for me, I have to charge enough for it to be worth even going out and to me 25 dollars even 35 dollars really anit worth cranking up the truckThis whole thread and I hate to pick on this because it is an all encompassing problem,.. mowing lawns is as other stated is a race to the bottom no customer wants to even be bumped for inflation.
I actually like mowing grass that doesn't bother me but if push comes to shove i got my own 3 acre yard i can mowI get it we are jacking prices this year for mowing and if no bueno then no problem I’m out of this part of this business
We truly did always double the price for the leads that said, “what if you mow it every other week?” I would also explain that because the lawn will grow more in two weeks of time than it does in one week of time, after two weeks it takes more time for us to properly maintenance the lawn; thus making it more expensive.Maybe the guy is doing what Lawnsite "pros" claim they do when they say they charge double or more for biweekly in order to convince people to have it cut weekly instead.
Maybe this guy DOESN'T WANT to mow weekly? Maybe he only wants to mow every other week?
I dunno... just trying to imagine other ways to rationalize this.
yeah most of my yards are based for two weeks so im use to it but I've never heard of two weeks being cheaper than a weekly that was more confusing to me then anythingWe truly did always double the price for the leads that said, “what if you mow it every other week?” I would also explain that because the lawn will grow more in two weeks of time than it does in one week of time, after two weeks it takes more time for us to properly maintenance the lawn; thus making it more expensive.
This usually led to the leads looking elsewhere, BUT we weren’t looking for EOW clients. It worked for us!
it said 1 free gutter cleaning per year, mowing, shrubs, edging, blowing, weeding, and trimming 50 weekly 35 biweekly that was the door hanger ad he put and what the customer sent meI take it...he does not have a trimmer nor edger...?
That storytelling goof crashed & burned on the site 10 years ago....😵I looked up his company and it seems like he came from a handyman service to lawn care so I have no idea but the pricing thing got me plus one free gutter cleaning a year seems like his leaving out a lot of money. which maybe its the first year's prices than the next he jumps up 50%. maybe it's like a dish network promotion.
He's still on FB.That storytelling goof crashed & burned on the site 10 years ago....😵

35 Dollar Lawns/These Are The Day's On Our Lawns
Today we started our day like any other day. 8:00a.m. Three days behind due to rain and 15 jobs behind. 40+ acres to go. $100.00 In fuel just to get going. Jobs 1-2 take on average 18-24 minutes each by the time it is all double mowed, edged and bushes trimmed. Job 3 is a very high end...www.lawnsite.com
You should start subbing some of your work and kick backnope on the flyer the customer sent it to me, it was 50 dollars weekly and 35 dollars biweekly and took me 30-45 minutes depending but its a little under half an acre yard
Easiest way to deal with this is politely say you cant match that but if they need anything in the future to keep your number.i got a text the other day that someone had come up and offered to mow their yard for 50 dollars every week or 35 dollars every two weeks and asked if I could beat that price. I told them no because first of all that price doesn't make sense to me and more so I'm not price matching or lowering prices ill just replace the yard because how in the hell do you charge more for weekly then biweekly. also 35 dollars anit really gonna cover the cost of fuel in my mower or truck. looked up the guy his using a lowes john deere mower so i don't know how those are but if its like my hustler then his gonna have issues with that grass
As such, the margins on mowing suck.I’ll add ,.. usually, loss leaders have huge bankrolls that the entire purpose they can under charge you out of existence for years and years until you capitulate. I doubt this is the strategy here just saying.
As such, the margins on mowing suck.
There have been LCO's that sell-off all their mowing accounts and just focus on landscaping and/or spraying....

Mr. 35-Dolla Lawns?? A "broke-to-billionaire" entrepreneurial type storyteller that was on here about 10 years back under about 3 different names.what in the hell did I just read?
thought about getting him to come cut my 3 acre yard figured he only want like 60 bucks weekly and maybe 45 biweeklyYou should start subbing some of your work and kick back
i have me as the people tried to get someone to come work today and they where passed out drunk time when they was suppose to come inDon't forget to tell them--it is too good to be true--and that you are a more reliable company, have better people, better equipment and will do a better job.
