My local bank has a repo'd Silverado HD 3500, dump bed, the box itself has sides that when unhooked drop down the side to load a pallet on, both side are this way, the back tailgate is a 3 way gate, open wide open, tip, or lay doen like a tailgate on pickup. The bed itself -inside - is rough looking. Outside of bed is still like new. Truck is a 2005, 11,000 miles, diesel, allison, auto, cab is like new, no dents, inside is like new, overall the truck is great shape.

Bank is taking sealed bids until the 30th of march. A recylced glass company owned this vehicle. I don't want to bid to high, or be low and not get it. Either way ya win or loss, but give me an idea of price you would be willing to pay?

Thanks for the input and let ya know what the outcome is.

without seeing it it's hard to say but most i've seen at auctions are bringing between $25k-$27k but thats without the fold down sides on the dump that may raise the price up a little more.

First off, it isnt an HD, only made HDs up to about 2000 and they were only 2wd, other than that, 25-28k would be a good price, except its an auction so I wouldnt bid more than 23k or so, just imo.

Over all condition is great for the truck. The bank told me it was used to haul cruched glass pallet, sometimes 2 pallets, to other side of town where it was recycled. So I am assuming the inside of box is due to being scratched up badly due to sliding, placing pallets in the back. Ocasionally they would dump a skid loader bucket or raw material into the truck - therefore the need for a dump.

But looking at the side claps to fold down, the back endgate, they are still painted black - so i doubt if they were used much at all.

I hate those silent auction sales repo people like to use those type of sales to get more value out of the truck.

Then they play favorites to regular customers so even if you bid higher than somebody else you still may not get it.

You can get a rough idea by pricing out a new dump box so ball park 6000 dollars and the truck if its in good shape diesel and 4x4 23,000 dollars or so.

If the box is all beat up on the inside already its got to be a cheaply built box you may not want it.

My mistake, ithe truck does not say HD. The window FOR SALE SIGN says HD. That is where I got it!

Since its a repo I wouldn't go more than 20k. Most likely it will go cheap probably around 15k. Thats what they go for around here.

Find out all you can about the truck, mileage, interior, cruise, power window, etc. Go to kbb.com and get TRADE VALUE of the truck. Call mfg. of dump and get new price. Knock off 45% of dump new and add to trade value, and don't bid a penny more.
