So I have a mower im looking at, its a toro walk behind belt drive, apprx 700 hours and a little dirty. I have a picture of it. As much info as I can get would be great, if you guys recognize year or anything. Also the price is $1000. What do you guys think?

You should keep looking. It doesn't even have a t-bar controls. $500 at most.

Certainly not over $500. And that would be in springtime, not mid winter.

The pistol grips are absolutely inferior to the T bar. There is really little reason to buy any toro w/o that feature, as they are pretty common.

The owner isn't exactly a maintenance freak, from the missing paint and apparent dirt left standing on it when it's up for sale.

There's really no way to tell how many hours a mower has, exactly. I have a '98 Toro that runs perfect but it has had almost no hours on it since '03. Find out what year model it is (serial number and a visit to toro's website will do that).

Owner should have manuals. If not it could be stolen or being passed among owners because it's a dog.

Check ebay completed auctions to get an idea of real world pricing. $1,000 is way overpriced for a used pistol grip machine unless it's nearly new.
