4.3 liter v-6 pulling trailer?

    Yeah, it's a 95 bare bones work truck. 108k and interior is like new.

    It sounded like a good idea to get a smaller V8 at the time. Now I'm gonna use it for light duty to pull a single axle or small dbl axle with standers only. Gotta make use of it some how.

    Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like it would work for my needs

    As of right now it would pull a 60" hustler and a small push mower. As well as the trimmer,blower, etc. mostly city miles and on side streets. Our shop it about 15 minutes from Every property.

    As for gas mileage. I'm using a 2500 diesel and it is getting 10.3 mph with city driving. So if its similar I'm fine with it. I dont want 8 mpg.

    My biggest concern was that it would handle the load and the brakes would hold up. Sounds like its worth the chance.

    It's a 2008 reg cab 2wd with about 72k. Has a chrome package. Not sure about a trailer hitch. Dealer is asking 12k. Maybe I can talk him down to 10k or 10500 if they add a trailer hitch?

    Seems a bit high those are only about 20k brand new. If you could get it around ten that wouldn't be bad. They are supposed to get around 20 not pulling so I'm sure 12-13 pulling isn't out of reach especially around town. is it a standard tranny or auto?

    260ft lb of torque should be plenty to pull a lawn trailer with.

    a 4.3 is essentially a 350 with 2 cylinders cut off. excellent engine. it will pull what you need it to, but personally i'd go with a v8. mileage will be similar, and the engine won't have to work as hard resulting in longer life.

    what kind of 2500 do you have that only gets 10mpg pulling that? I get around 18 unloaded in my 6.7 cummins, about 15 pulling a similar load. hell last week i still got 14.5 with 50 rolls of sod in the bed, 15 bags of dirt and 2 standers on a trailer
