What's the preferred spray for lawns 4 or 6"?
Never underestimate the value of a spray body you can cleanly unthread from its connection, without disturbing any soil. That would favor a 4-inch, of whatever brand.
6" if you want to do it right. 4" if the budget is tight.
Of course, those old landscapes with 2-inch brass popups are still managing to get by.
.....and they waste a tremendous amount of water as well.
If you have head-to-head spacing, the functional value of a 6-inch popup spray in lawngrass cut at 3 inches is dubious.
I always use 6 on new installs. Time and time I see 4" overtaken to the point where they don't clear the grass. Of course you can by a 4" for less than a dollar and a 6 with check is closer to $8 so 99.9% will use the 4".
6" is a must for fescue. But we use mostly 4" otherwise, which sucks when thatch takes over... But most that keep up with their yard do just fine with them.

I like 6'' but 4's is what people usually go for
6" on any turf that is (or should be) maintained at heights at or above 3 inches.
