I am looking for feedback (positive or negative) on a 48" Piranha walk behind mower. I like the price (approx $2000 - new), but I am hesitant to purchase something so new on the market. My original plan was to purchase a used Scag or Ex-Mark for approx. $1500 but I am having trouble finding something decent. I want the mower for private use only - to mow my 1 acre, slightly hilly lot. I have no commercial ambitions! I would like to hear from folks who have purchased or currently use this machine. If this mower is as good as the dealer claims, it seems it could last a lifetime.

Can`t beat Exmark, Scags are known to have problems. Most guys I know have Exmarks, look or save up and buy one.

Cheap-built mower, made in China. Also sold under many other names, some still around, some long gone.

For just private use only i dont think you will have a problem with it. We started off with the same mower under a different name and it held up for about 5 years cutting 20 lawns a week then eventually as a backup. I still have it today(don't use it much though) I had to put new spindles on it,weld a crack on the deck and a few other small parts but it starts right up
