what is the sq ftage a 50lb bag of grass seed can cover? it is for re seeding a lawn
it depends on what type of seed is in the bag. it will state it right on the bag too if you look for it.
its a rapid grow mix i dont have a bag in front of me. im trying to estimate a quote
Lescos tall fescue blend says that It will cover 12,000 sf when overseeding or 8,000sf when first time seeding a new lawn.
rule of thumb we use is overseeding 2-3 lbs per thousand s.f. and 7-9 lbs on a newly seeded lawn.(overseed in the early fall again if needed)
the lawn is 17000sq ft what will i need
If you just overseeding 50lb would but you right a 3lbs per thou which is a good rate, it you trying to establish a new lawn from top soil you would need about 150 lbs at 8lbs per thou.
thanks for the help
