I have a demo this weeked of a 66" SuperZ with the 26hp LC Kawi engine.

Starts and runs smooth and quiet as it should, but in the power department, just accelerating w/o the blades engaged it really pulls the RPM's down.

    While mowing, it's obviously worse.

While I'd never own this engine, I question if the 28hp EFI Kohler is going to be lacking in power as well?

Just mowing around going slow, it seems fine, but jumping from say 7-8mph to 15mph, it really bogs and if it had a tach I'd guess it's dropping to like 3000 rpm or so (maybe less).

Are there any talks of higher powered engines making they're way into these SuperZ's?

There's no way this 26hp LC Kawi could ever handle a 72" deck, but then you offer the little Honda :dizzy:

As with any mower, speed, grass length, conditions and hp all are part of the equation.
Right now the 28 EFI and the 30 Kohler are the best choices and the most hp we offer.
You would be very surprised with the EFI, it is a awesome engine.
I am sure with the engine mfg's getting us larger hp engines in the vertical shaft configuration, we will offer them as we can.
