I'm looking at a 1996 f-350 (reg. cab long bed) with the powerstroke TD engine and wanted to know what kind of milage i'm facing with this truck. Any other comments about this truck/engine are welcome, too. Thanks!

You can look up the government standards for any vehicle, uhm, epa fuel regulation something... Wait a sec, here it is:
ack I just noticed it stops at the 3/4 tons, sorry but I'm leaving the reference...

It's not perfect, as in your vehicle may not get exactly those numbers, but it's a great guide.

Its either a 3.55 or 4.10 gear ratio, 3.73 wasnt available until the super duty style PSD.

i drove an F-350 powerstroke with a trailer that weighed approx. 11,000 lbs on a trip about 400 miles, 320 or so miles were highway at 65-70mph. the average MPG for the trip was really surprising, it was 16.3 MPG with a trailer, my 4.3 V6 1500 is lucky to get that unhooked.
