i have a chance to buy a 1998 chevy 3500hd 4x2 stake dump with 50,000 miles and a diesal mower. i can get it around $10,000. does this sound like a good deal? also, does having 4 wheel drive really matter, or should i hold off and get a dump with 4 wheel drive? thanks!

They didn't make a 3500hd with 4wd so if you like this one you better jump on it. If your gonna plow snow with it, I make sure you put it on flat lots, and push every 3 inches with atleast a ton in the back. If you put a salter on the back you'll be in good shape.

Personally I like the 3500HD's and would like one with a 6.5 Diesel, any motor offered in them is good be it the 350 or 454.

Just be sure not to put too much blade on the front of it. I wouldn't go bigger than 8.5
