Im sure it will pull it,but will you be able to stop and will it push you around. You werent very detailed with your tow vehicle, trailer,or total weights.i know you'll be pushing it.The 5.3V8 ,,4x4,excabs are more stable tow vehicles, since they are longer, and heavier(5000 lbs),than the 2wd V6 short box 4x2,around 3800-4200 depending on options.GM goes by GCWR of the powertrain,I think the 5.3 with 4.10's in a 1/2 ton has a 13,500lb GCWR,so if your truck is 5000,you can tow about 8300-8500,but that is pushing it,and if you have 4.10's,and a tow package.which isnt likely. With 3.73's tha GCWR drops to arond 12000 lbs, with 3.42's it drops to 11000 lbs, these figures assume you have the Z82 tow package, without that your factory limit is 5000,irreguardless of what gears you have. All weights above 5000,also assume you have a weight distributing hitch, which i feel is needed on a 1/2 ton,but not on a 3/4 or 1 ton,in most cases.
