Does ADIOS weed control actually kill the weed, or is it more of a knock back like the Green Guardian and the Iron one (I forget the name).

ADIOS acts systemically as a selective post emergent for broadleafs, crabgrass, poison ivy, knotweed and other weeds.

There are two variations of the product, both are all natural and EPA exempt under 25(b). One is OMRI listed and is applied at a higher rate.

I will be glad to provide labels, Ohio State research, testimonials; but not through this forum.

Its Sodium Chloride, (table Salt) only 1 app a year. Not close to water.

In Canada its not even allowed for usage except on Ragweed at the moment.

Check your local state regulations, 25(b) exemptions are not exemptions in all states.

If you use a product as a pesticide its not exempt and is listed as a possibly dangerous/toxic. Simple stuff the NOFA OMRI people get confused.

There is a great deal of confusion on the safety of any pesticide. Under NOFA Standards for Accredited Organic land Care Professionals, the preferred procedure is always cultural methods followed by allowed use of NOP compliant products. NOFA does allow under certain circumstances a one time rescue treatment of a pesticide, followed by NOFA approved cultural practices to address the underlying cause of the pest.

I hope the US does not follow in the footsteps of Canada by completely banning pesticides. However, there is much that can be said in favor of a modified organic approach. From what I am seeing, there is a strong movement within the applicator business of taking a deeper and unbiased look at how this approach will help them improve their businesses while being better environmental stewards.

Does this means that a person properly using an EPA/Health Canada Approved SAFE for pregnant women and children Synthetic Pesticide is not being an environmental steward, and is some how considered a criminal spreading cancer.

Just take away the Synthetic pesticides, don't use them. Not even once for a rescue or emergency app. to these so called organic programs. Lets not forget the fact that irrigation is the other mandatory requirement.

Replace the lawn every 3-5 years at huge costs and call it organic.

Pesticide Free Businesses in Ontario fail. The organic Landscape Association has failed. Its common knowledge here, in time you will see. They don't have the option of using a synthetic pesticide for rescue and emergency usage. That's where things differ.

Where does it say Synthetic Lawn Pesticides are safe for women and children?

the above comments are based on following Osborne Organics strategies on Organic Land Care. Which should be inline with the OMRI NOFA accreditations.

back to original question how well does it work?
is a follow up app in 2 or 3 weeks needed?
can it be used when its over 90

    Good questions.

ADIOS is another tool available for "natural" selective control of labeled weeds. It is not a magic bullet and should not be interpreted as such. It is not as effective as some of the chemical products, but it does fill a void in natural or organic lawn care.

As per the label, some weeds will require a followup application.
Do not use when temps are over 80. Do not use on drought stressed turf.

It is not suitable for use with low volume application equipment such as a Permagreen.

If you follow the label correctly, ADIOS will make lawn care easier for those who chose to be chemical free.
