I passed the test, and now I am on the verge of getting licensed. We have a contract lined up to maintain about 5 acres of lawn for a 120unit/32 building townhome complex. I have literally no experience doing this. How should I go about taking on this task. Any advice you have would be much appreciated. Specifically, I need an application schedule and names of products for weed control, insect control, and fertilization. I live near the coast in Southeast Georgia.

I just passed my MD test and am on the verge of becoming a medical doctor.

Can someone tell me where the heart is? Head? Basic anatomy? What is the difference between a virus and bacteria? Is the skin an organ? Is smoking bad for the lungs and heart?

How do I perform open heart surgery vs a lobotomy?

Thanks in advance!

The head is that thing you bang against your desk when you read one of these threads.

Your' wel'come

Go talk to any of the vendors in the area. Their sales reps will put together programs for you. That's kind of wild that they basically just pass out licenses on the street down there.
Kind of wild that someone would take on an account without knowing Jack Schitt.

Well, it's not like he took on an account for an entire city to edge all their curbs without knowing where to start. So give the guy some credit.

Nah, every tik toker or YouTuber makes you think buying a bag of surge from harrells is the key to a good lawn.
OP, your first order of business before fert is to do a soil test to see what the lawn needs.

the info you’ll glean from a supplier like site one will help you battle the more common weeds. What are you applying with, stand on or skid sprayer?

Pfft...chest spreader and backpack sprayer.

That way he can apply granular and liquid at the same time.

Indeed. I see a guy in there pushing that surge saying it will take care of creeping Charlie! I’ll bet!
This is my own place, I was taking out Bermuda in the flower bed with a mix of Diquat and fussilade 2. Got some overspray on the creeping Charlie:Jenny. As you can see it laughed at it. Dinged it but that was it!

So I do lawns but have not done the applications of pesticides yet. I passed the national exam at 90%. Passed the turf exam at 95%. Studied 200 hours for them.

All I was asking was for some advice for someone just getting into the herbicides and pesticides. Thanks to those who have given advice. To those who think it's always a good laugh to mock someone first getting into a new part of the business, hey, glad to provide you a few laughs. I mean, they must be hard to come by if you have to get them by getting into online packs and laughing at someone. But again, glad to provide you a little levity.

Wow...I didn't study at all the last time I took it.

I think I passed...got this little green card in the mail.

Or does that just mean I'm here legally now?
No clue what it means, but you're obviously far smarter than me. That's a given. So, if you have any advice for a simpleton so he can become half as smart as you, I'm all ears.

The problem with that is I don't know Jack Schitt about warm season turf.

Well your post seemed like you wanted it figured out for you.

as stated, site one has a schedule with their mix of chemicals, probably built by region.

also one of your ag colleges would be a source, as well as a county extension agent.

people get on here all the time wanting information they themselves could find. If you took the tests, the material should have source documents and other pertinent info.
