I've been asked by our local Hydro Utility Company to bid on a job at one of their hydro sub stations. This guy is president of the hydro company and is my next door neighbour but he won't comprimise himself by giving me any inside information.

The area is overgrown with about 2 foot grass (only a few weeds) and is actually fairly sparse growth. The flat area is about 43,400 sq ft and there is also a berm about 200 ft long X 30 ft wd X 10 ft high (maybe another 6000 sq ft) that is also covered with the same. They want all the grass knocked down, a one time job.
Assume that the whole thing will have to be done with a string trimmer.

What would your TIME on it be. I will put my hourly rate to the TIME.
I might be out to lunch but I was thinking 6 to 7 hours. What do you guys think? Sorry, I didn't think to bring my camera.

    Weedwacking an acre?!?

You might want to rethink your choice of equipment, ie renting a brush cutter.
