I am looking to purchase a new mower soon (within a week). My current mower is a JD 757 w/ a 25 hp Kawasaki. I really like the mower, but last season at about 400 hrs. the engine started leaking oil. The dealer finally replaced the engine after working on it all summer.

The mowers I am looking at are the XT3200-60 and the SP2800-60 and the XWF2700-60. I really like the Kohler engines and I am really interested in the Supreme series, but I am a little worried about the EFI system. I already have some prices and the XT3200-60 and SP2800-60 are the same price basically. Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    You didn't mention the SP3200..

I have a SP3200-72 and a XT3200-72. They are equals other then the XT being 3 MPH faster. I would get the most HP you can afford and I think you will be happy.

If you have any specific questions... let me know.

The dealer I am working with does not have the SP3200 and DC discontinued that model for '05. Also, the dealer has four '04 SP2800-60 left over. His price was not very good on the left over models. I called another dealer (out of state) and he could get me an '05 XT3200-60 for cheaper than the '04 SP2800-60. I am going to try to get my dealer to match the prices from the out of state dealer.

Have you had any problems with the Generacs?

Other then the XT blowing a hole out the side of the motor at 300 hours.. no problems :D Just a freak thing that happens every now and then. The Generac is covered for 3 years. The thing never bogs down.
