How soon after rain can i aerate? Should i let the soil dry out a bit?

It depends on equipment, rain amount, terrain, etc. We usually wait a day or two.

depends on how much rain i like the next day as long as the ground is not soaking wet then you will do more damage then good

Toatally depends on how much rain you got. Usually the next day is fine, but if you notice your aerator leaving ruts then yoy know its no good. That is a judgment call on your part.

We have sandy soils here and the day after it rains is always the best for us.
