I was just curious what types of aerators you all use, Im in the market for one and was just wondering if a spike aerator has a real advantage over a plug aerator? Just wondering which one I should look in to. :help:

This should read, does a spike aerator have an advantage over a plug aerator or vice versa. Sorry about that.

NO, plug aerator all the way! Spike aerators IMHO are useless!

Agreed. Spikes are useless and have no advantage over core aerators.

Make sure you get 3/4" Tines with open spoon.

I use a Plugr aerator, won't be tired by the end of day. I have used other brands and I was exhausted at the end of the day.

The main reason to aerate is to relieve compaction. With a spike aerator you are not relieving compaction. If you are looking for a walk behind type check out the plugr by rocksolid, if you want a tow behind check out the Lesco or Classen unit.

Bleubird also has a tow behind model as well.
