How many of you are using aftermarket filters fron J-thomas, Mow More, Landscapers supply, etc. I know they are quite a bit cheaper than OEM filters but are they as good. I'm referring to all filters- oil, hydro, air, and fuel filters. Has anyone had any problems with them? Do they shorten the life of the equipment?

We used Wix and NAPA no problems.

There was some conversation here a while back about J thomas hydro filters being the wrong type and/or the same as the oil filters. Try doing a search. I think it will be one of those things you need to try for your self. I get filters, belts and blades from different places, but Mow More works for me.

Yeah, Wix or NAPA. Actually, I believe Wix actually makes the NAPA filters.
The NAPA Gold Kawasaki oil filter is about $5-$6 cheaper than the OEM Kaw filter in my experience, with no drop-off in quality.
