We are in need of a replacement piston for one of our saws quick and I don't know what's up with our dealer but their distributor has been horrible lately in regard to getting things shipped in a timely manner.

Online OEM resellers charge way too much, but I see lots of aftermarket engine components that are affordable.

If you've had any experience with them would you share it?

I've used several Meteor and Hyway pistons, both came with Caber rings.
They worked great, still workin' great.

Seems when they come out with a new piston, there’s growing pains.
I used Meteor with good results.
Problems I’ve seen are with the wrist pin retainer groove.
Some of the retainer rings were soft also.
I got a steady supply of old saws to repair and resell, being at a Stihl dealership.

Another post reminded me about this saw, thought I'd follow up.

Slapped a meteor piston in an MS261 a few days after this post and it's been running every day the weather would allow us to work since then doing removals.

At this point I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another if needed.
