We're having a bit of an internal disagreement about contracts, and are in the process of revising ours. Without getting into it, I just wanted some advice from those of you out there who have been doing this for a while. So, my general questions are: How important is it to have a contract for yearly maintenance? Or is it important at all? Why do you use/not use a contract? How has your contract protected you? If you use a contract, would you say it's better to keep it in "legalese" or in lamen's terms? How do you present your contract to customers? Were they hesitant to sign a contract? How do you get past that? What would you say is the most important thing(s) to include in a yearly maintenance contract? Right now these questions are about yearly maintenance for residential lawns only. Landscaping, commercial, etc. aren't really an issue for us right now. For all you pros out there, we can use some help!
