Hello out there, who has experience with gator dust? I recently completed my first flagstone patio, a circular flagstone firepit area with some sidewalks. Flagstone is 2-1/2 inches thick. Underneath the flagstone I have 8-10 inches of crushed rock with fines, then 1 inch of coarse sand. I read instructions and watched videos on how to install the Gator Dust. I swept it in, pounded the stones, swept it off, and blew it off with a leaf blower. I then watered per the instructions. The patio looks great. The problem is it feels stiff/rubbery on the top, but squishy underneath when pressed with your fingers. It has been down close to a week with no rain and still feels the same. Now I have noticed and edge that peeled up, and it seems like wet, squishy gator dust underneath. Then today it rained and I noticed another area peeled up, along wth other areas that seem bubbly underneath the surface. I looking for advice or anyone with experience with this. I meticulously worked on this at my own personal house in my spare time for over a month. It almost makes me sick to think it could all be for nothing if the gator dust doesn't work. Help!!!

I have about 750 sq ft patio and with the cost of Dust I was very careful following the instructions (Both times ) I tried this. Now all patios are not created equal so test this out first. I used # 89 rock and Quikcrete's polymer structual repair cement dry mixed at a 1 to 5 ratio by volume/ broomed it in / and then misted off the stone much like the gator dust (but much easier to clean ). The rock seems to let the water filter all the way .
This was much cheaper than Dust (2400 lbs of rock is $40.00 and the cement was $300 ) but much cheaper if they have it in 50lb bags in your area. We will see how it goes this winter but very happy with results after 2 months. Questions to pet2592@hotmail.com
