this may be old news as i havent had time to browse this board as much as i would like. but, a close friend of mine works for John Deere and he gets to see all the companies John Deere owns.

one of the most shocking to me was ECHO. yes, John Deere owns ECHO.

anyone else know this? have i been out of the loop too long?

Guys it has been like that for 10 years! Put them side by side and there are few differences.

Funny thing about JD making Echo. There is a dedicated JD dealership nearby and he sells very little JD 2 stroke. He carried the complete Echo line until last year. He got rid of it and now carries Stihl and no JD 2 stroke stuff. You can buy JD push mowers up to compact tractors. Matt

The John Deere engineers were too busy working on the ag equipment (combines, tractors, planters, etc) and trying to keep up with the competition:D They just revamped/redesigned their combines, tractors, planters, and sprayers. They will get around the lawn equipment some day...

Anybody got a quarter of a million so I can buy a new combine?
